The San Francisco 49ers' drama with wide receiver Deebo Samuel has been well-documented, as the wideout's displeasure with his role on the team has resulted in stalled contract talks and reports of Samuel desiring a trade. While the drama has simmered down lately, there's certainly still doubts about Samuel's future with the team. During a conversation with NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, 49ers linebacker Fred Warner delivered an optimistic take on the Samuel situation, as reported by NFL.com.

“I know you're going to stir it up, Tom … so listen, I know that this team knows its value in Deebo Samuel. I know that Deebo loves the team that he plays for. I know the type of teammate, the type of player he is in that locker room, the amount of love that we have for him, he has for us. So, I think it's just a matter of time before something gets done. I'm here for him, and I know we all care a lot about him over here in this building and ya, that's all I got to say about it.”

Warner believes it's only a “matter of time before something gets done.” The 49ers talented linebacker said that the 49ers “know the value” they have in Samuel.

Warner is absolutely right, as the 49ers' stance has seemingly been to retain Samuel all along. If anything, there was a disconnect between the team and Samuel's view of his own usage in their offense, something the team is hopeful can be worked out.

For now, 49ers fans can only hope that Fred Warner is right.
