(Atlantic) The State Fire Marshall Office and the affected Insurance Company deemed Tuesday’s apartment fire on Tuesday 7th as Locust accidental. Atlantic Fire Chief Tom Cappel says the fire started in the north upstairs window.
On Tuesday, May 10, Atlantic firefighters responded to the apartment fire at 2:58 p.m. When firefighters arrived on the scene, black smoke billowed from the dormers on the structure’s roof. Atlantic Firemen used the aerial truck to attack the blaze on the top of the three-level structure. There were no injuries.
The apartment consisted of five apartments and eight occupants; all got out safely.
Fire Departments from Marne, Anita, Lewis, and Griswold provided mutual aid.
