Aly Raisman, Cornudas Chili cook-off, and Las Artistas pop-up among Borderland events this week

Here's what's happening this week if you're looking for a fun night out in El Paso County and Las Cruces.

Friday

Cornudas Chili Cook-off: The 32nd annual Cornudas Chili Cook-Off will be Friday-Sunday at the Cornudas Cafe in Salt Flat, Texas, on U.S. Highway 62/180. The event is from 7 p.m. to midnight Friday; 10 a.m. to close Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. The chili cook-off will feature live music, games and prizes. 915-964-2508.

Las Artistas will have its art pop-up from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the El Paso International Museum of Art, 1211 Montana Ave.

Joey Medina: The comedian, one of the stars of The Original Latin Kings of Comedy, will have shows at 8 p.m. Friday, 7:30 and 10 p.m. Saturday, and 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the El Paso Comic Strip, 1201 Airway Blvd. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for early shows, 9:30 p.m. for late shows. Saturday

2022 Art Gala and Auction: The gala to benefit the murals under the Spaghetti Bowl will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the War Eagles Air Museum, 8012 Airport Road, Santa Teresa, New Mexico. Tickets are $75 per person and include wine, food and entrance to the museum hangar. 575-589-2000

Banned Book unveiling: El Pasoans are invited to the city's unveiling of a banned book section, from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday at the Chamizal Community Center and Library, 2119 Cypress Ave. The event will include a book reading, activities for children and refreshments.

Bicycle Rodeo: El Paso Pediatric Associates will have its 4th Annual bicycle rodeo from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at 1160 Saddle Bronc. Free helmets for first 50 Kids. Children are encouraged to bring their bikes. Health fair for adults. 915-593-2033.

Downtown Farmers Market: The El Paso Downtown Artist and Farmers Market, featuring handmade arts and crafts and regional agricultural products, is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays at 117 Anthony St.
