Academy of Vocal Arts Cancels Performances Due to COVID-19

The Academy of Vocal Arts has announced two cancelations.

The organization revealed that due to an increase in cases of COVID-19 at the institution, the Farewell Recital and the May 14 showcase of “La Bohème” have been canceled.

AVA did note that it would be streaming the Farewell Recital at a later date. The recital is set to star Aubry Ballarò, Alice Chung, Eric Delagrange, Cody Müller, Renée Richardson, and Griffen Hogan Tracy.

The May 14 performance of “La Bohème” was the final one in a run that opened on April 28. The opera starred Zach Rioux and Sahel Salam as Rodolfo, Kevin Godínez as Marcello, Peter Barber and Benjamin Dickerson as Schaunard, Eric Delagrange and Griffen Hogan Tracy as Colline, Yihan Duan and Renée Richardson as Mimì, and Loella Grahn, Emily Margevich as Musetta.
