Grand Island man arrested over attempted kidnapping of teen, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Grand Island man was arrested on suspicion of trying to kidnap a 13-year-old on Monday afternoon, said Grand Island police.

From the teenager’s description, police were able to identify a suspect and make the arrest a day after the incident was reported.

During the investigation, probable cause was gained to arrest Luis Carillo Argueta, 22, around 9 p.m. on Thursday, police said.

Carillo Argueta is currently being housed in the Hall County Jail.

Portions of this investigation are still ongoing, and there is the potential for additional charges, said police.
