Two were arrested after ISP detectives serve a search warrant

MITCHELL – Two men were arrested Wednesday after an Indiana State Police undercover detective with the Drug Enforcement Section applied for a search warrant at a residence at 315 West Warren Street in Mitchell on Wednesday. 

 This search warrant pertained to a  burglary case a detective was investigating.  

An ISP detective knocked on the back door of the residence and a female answered. Inside the home troopers found two men 40-year-old Nicholas Dunn and 31-year-old George Patton. The men were asked to step outside of the residence and were “patted down”.

In Dunns’s pocket, the trooper found a pocket knife. Dunn was arrested on an outstanding warrant. 

In Patton’s pocket troopers found a lighter and a syringe loaded with meth.

Patton was arrested on charges of possession of meth and unlawful possession of a syringe.
