Matt Crafton wins appeal of NASCAR disqualification

Matt Crafton was disqualified in post-race inspection at Darlington Raceway

It’s something like a shooting star moment. It’s not very often that a penalty is overturned but in this case, ThorsSport Racing has won their appeal.

Last Friday, the NASCAR Truck Series unloaded under the lights in Darlington, South Carolina. The 1.366-mile of Darlington Raceway hosted the Dead on Tools 200.

Matt Crafton finished 5th in the event. However, officials disqualified the No. 88 after the NASCAR Truck Series event. He was relegated to a 36th place finish (last).

14.17.3.2.1.2.a: Post-Qualifying and Post-Race Front Body Inspection Heights. The truck was declared too low in the front.

The penalty was issued in post-race inspection.
