Merced teen reported missing during campus tour

MERCED, Calif. — The Merced Police Department is turning to the community for help in locating a teen that went missing on Thursday morning.

Officers say 13-year-old James Covert went missing while on a campus tour of Cruickshank Elementary School.

The department says he has a learning disability, he is 5’9” tall, 120 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes.

Covert was also reported missing in April, he had run away from his home but was later found.
