On April 27, 2022, Hospice of Murray County held their Annual Spring Benefit. In years past, many might have remembered the spring benefit being an auction, but it had changed to dueling pianos, a play, a magician and even a comedy duo. The last couple of years, due to COVID, Hospice had to get creative. Just because COVID hit our area and our ability to gather was limited, Hospice of Murray County never stopped visiting and caring for their patients. Our staff was still “Front Line Workers” providing care to those people who were in the end stages of a terminal illness. Which is why our communities have seen the Annual Spring Benefit switch gears again to a Drive Thru Burger Meal – in which Hospice has partnered with the Murray County Cattlemen’s Association to provide a tasty grilled burger and sides.
Paired with great sponsors of our event, awesome donors and many people who came out to support Hospice of Murray County, the 2022 Spring Benefit was a great success! Because of this kind of support, Hospice can continue to serve our patients and their families in the way that we are known for – with comfort, compassion, and dignity during the end stages of life.
Hospice of Murray County has been serving patients and their families in Murray and surrounding counties since 1987. It is the only free-standing nonprofit hospice provider in the community and the funds raised during fundraisers such as these will allow us to update and replace equipment in both Our House and our Home Hospice program such as the whirlpool tub and the call system in Our House, oxygen concentrators and lift chairs for patients in their homes.
