BB: Hofstra Hosts James Madison In Final Regular Season Series

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University baseball team wraps up the regular season this weekend with a three-game series at home against James Madison University. Hofstra, which clinched a spot in the upcoming Colonial Athletic Association Championship, will be looking to solidify its seeding against the Dukes. Hofstra currently holds the No. 2 seed ahead of UNCW and Northeastern, which each have six games remaining in the regular season.

The series begins Friday at 3 p.m. with games on Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Pride enters the series with a record of 23-21 overall and 12-9 in CAA play. Hofstra has won two consecutive games and is coming off a 15-8 victory at Saint Peter's this past Tuesday. Ryan Morash had four hits and five RBIs to pace the Pride's offense.

James Madison, which is ineligible for the CAA Championship, is 26-20 overall and 11-6 in league play. The Dukes are currently in second place in the league standings and have won three in a row coming into the weekend. James Madison swept a doubleheader at Towson this past Sunday.

Hofstra will be celebrating senior day prior to Saturday's game with 18 seniors to be recognized in a 12 p.m. ceremony. All three games will be streamed live on FloBaseball. Live statistics will also be provided. Links for both can be found above or on the baseball schedule page on GoHofstra.com. 

Pitching matchups for the series will be:
Friday: Mark Faello (6-3, 4.96) vs. Liam McDonnell (6-1, 2.61)
Saturday: John Mikolaicyk (1-1, 5.27) vs. Ryan Murphy (4-2, 3.07)
Sunday: Brad Camarda (6-1, 3.31) vs. Justin Showalter (4-6, 4.20)

Following the series against James Madison, Hofstra will break for final exams before resuming play at the CAA Championship at Elon. Depending on its seeding, Hofstra will play either Wednesday May 25 or Thursday, May 26.
