STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — “Saturday Night Live” star Colin Jost will be trading jokes for golf clubs this summer.
The Staten Islander is set to take part in the 33rd annual American Century Championship (ACC), a celebrity golf tournament that raises money for local and national charities.
Jost will be joined by Justin Timberlake, Aaron Rodgers, Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, Annika Sorenstam and several other former and current professional athletes, comedians and TV personalities who will vie for a record purse of $600,000.
More than 80 players are expected to participate in this year’s event, with additional names expected to be added to the roster leading up to tee-off.
Jost is no stranger to the links: He has been a frequent competitor in several charitable Staten Island golf events over the years.
According to NBC Sports, which owns the made-for-TV event, the ACC has donated more than $5 million to nonprofits over the years.
The tournament, which takes place at Nevada’s Lake Tahoe from July 6-10, is a 54-hole modified Stableford format. It will be televised July 8-10, with Golf Channel carrying the opening round Friday and NBC airing live coverage Saturday and Sunday.
In 2021, former NBA player and coach Vinny Del Negro won the title.
Tickets are available at AmericanCenturyChampionship.com, with daily tickets for Wednesday’s practice round and Thursday’s Celebrity-Amateur at $30, and tournament rounds Friday, Saturday and Sunday at $40 per day. A grounds pass for all five days is $90.
