Man dies after medical incident in Iroquois County Jail

TUSCOLA, Ill. (WICS/WCCU) —
A Hoopeston man is dead after he suffered a medical incident at the Iroquois County Jail.

It happened Wednesday night after he was picked up by deputies during a traffic stop.
The man was wanted on an outstanding Newton County, Indiana warrant for failure to appear on charges of aggravated battery to a public official.
We're told he was taken to the Iroquois County Jail without incident.
While at the Iroquois County Jail, he suffered a medical incident.
Deputies and Correctional Officers attempted life saving measures and the subject was transported to the Iroquois Memorial Hospital by Riverside EMS. The man was later pronounced dead at Iroquois Memorial Hospital.
