The procedure will be a scope, according to the report. The Sun-Times had previously reported LaVine would need a procedure, and LaVine is now moving forward with those plans.

LaVine suffered a left knee injury in January, causing him to miss some time and to undergo a constant maintenance plan in the second half of the season in order to play. He still managed to play in 67 of the 82 regular-season games. LaVine suffered a torn ACL in the same knee in 2017.

LaVine earned All-Star honors for the second time while averaging 24.4 points on 47.6% shooting this past season.

LaVine’s health is looming over his upcoming free agency. While the Bulls are favored to re-sign him, LaVine has also emphasized that he’ll consider all his options. The Bulls can offer LaVine a five-year deal worth around $212 million. Other teams could only offer him a four-year deal worth around $157 million if they were to sign him outright.
