Guess Again Teams with J Balvin for Summer-Ready Collection

Not long after debuting a documentary about his homecoming tour and mental health journey, Colombian singer J Balvin teamed with Guess on a 47-piece collaboration that celebrates the message of “amor y paz,” or “peace and love.”  This is the third time the reggaeton artist has worked with the Los Angeles-based brand.

The new collection includes the colorful assortment customers have grown to expect from the partnership, with pops of neon green, pink and yellow and equally vibrant graphics like swirl stripes, hearts and clovers throughout. Trucker jackets and carpenter pants, as well as eco rayon camp shirts and coordinating swim trunks anchor the men’s collection, while graphic T-shirts, crochet tops and dresses, and coordinating swimsuits and tops round out the women’s collection. Select styles are also available for children.

“Our partnership with [Balvin] continues to give fans a deeper connection to what he cares about while honoring Guess’ heritage of provoking a sense of celebration,” said Nicolai Marciano, Guess Originals director of brand partnerships. “The collection features a universal design language rooted in bright colors, peace and love—especially self-love.”

The duo has teamed up in the past, most recently in 2020 with the launch of the Guess x J Balvin Colores collection for men, women and children in celebration of the artist’s album “Colores.” The range included brightly colored tie-dye, stripes and color blocking across denim, T-shirts, swimwear and accessories. Prior to that, they released a collection inspired by ’90s Miami reflecting the aesthetic of his then-most-recent album “Vibras.”

The styles align with the dopamine color pop trend that made its way through fashion following the Covid-19 pandemic. Ever since, consumers have looked to cheerful clothing to contrast with the anxiety felt around the world. The vibrant aesthetic also taps into festival fashion, which is defined by eccentric looks worn at Coachella and other music events slated for this summer.

Celebrity partnerships have helped Guess achieve its premium status. It haas worked with the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Drew Barrymore, Anna Nicole Smith, Michele Morrone and other brand ambassadors throughout the years.

The Guess Originals x J Balvin Amor collection will be available beginning Thursday on the Guess Originals website and in select Guess stores, with prices ranging from $14-$148.
