Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC) has again been awarded an ‘A’ in the spring 2022 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, a national distinction recognizing the medical center’s achievements in protecting patients from preventable harms and errors. This is the 17th consecutive reporting period in which MRMC earned an ‘A’ safety rating.

Maury Regional Medical Center has once again been awarded an A rating in the spring 2022 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade recognizing the hospital's achievements in patient safety.

This is the 17th consecutive year the medical center has received the national distinction for protecting patients from preventable harms and errors.

According to an MRMC press release, The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization committed to health care and safety, assigning the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade to general hospitals nationwide, and is updated every six months. The evaluation process includes hospitals who are assessed on how well they prevent medical errors, injuries, accidents and infections, as well as the systems in place to prevent other harms to patients in their care.

“Patient safety is the utmost priority at Maury Regional Medical Center,” said Maury Regional Health CEO Davin Turner, DO.

“This recognition from The Leapfrog Group reflects our entire health care team’s commitment to providing the safest and highest quality care for all our patients. I am appreciative of all the medical staff members and employees at Maury Regional Medical Center who have consistently made this recognition for safety possible.”

The grade uses up to 30 national performance measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign grades to nearly 3,000 U.S. acute-care hospitals twice per year. The methodology is peer-reviewed and fully transparent, with results available free to the public at www.HospitalSafetyGrade.org.

“As our health care system continues to feel the strain of the pandemic, I thank the workforce and leadership of Maury Regional Medical Center for sustained commitment to patient safety, day in and day out,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group.

“An ‘A’ Safety Grade is an outstanding achievement, and one that is not possible without a 24/7 effort by the entire health care workforce to protect patients from harm. This community should be proud.”
