Deaf Smith Electric Cooperative has awarded $20,000 in scholarship money to students in its service territory, with the DSEC board of directors granting 10 scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each.

These scholarships are available to immediate families of active members and active employees of Deaf Smith Electric Cooperative.

Since the program began back in 1998, DSEC has awarded more than $400,000 in scholarships to members across the cooperative’s system. Funds for these scholarships come from our Operation Round Up program, where members can “round up” their bill to the next dollar, and a portion of escheated funds from the State of Texas.

Locally, two Nazareth and one Dimmitt senior received scholarships.
