Plainsmen golfers hit two tourneys

Plainsmen golfers continue to lower their scores as the regular season continues.
Monday Perkins County was at the Hitchcock County Invite in McCook.
Zaybreon Hansen was top medalist after shooting 78. He scored 36 out and 42 in to win by seven strokes.
Brient Wood also broke the top 10, finishing ninth with a final score of 98.
Hunter Garner and Storm Peterson each scored 106 and Nolan Foster finished at 118.
PCS was third in the team standing, 17 strokes behind tournament champion McCook and only five strokes behind runner up Dundy County Stratton.
The Plainsmen traveled to the Creek Valley Invite May 5.
Hansen was the top individual medalist once more. Hansen shot a season low 73, finishing one under par at 35 coming in and two over par 38 going out.
Garner also scored a season low 92 to finish 10th.
Peterson was one stroke back. Wood carded a 99 and Foster 104.
As a team, the Plainsmen had their lowest score of the season as a team, 357.
The JV team also took part in the invite.
Will Long scored 39 in, just three over par, and 45 out for a score of 84.
Also on the course were Eli Busick, 106; Hayden Foster, 107; Isaiah Hatcher, 109; and Ashton Meyer, 113.
Up next
PCS will go to Kimball again Wednesday for the postponed Kimball Invite.
The team will be a little closer to home when it travels to the Ogallala Invite Thursday.
District golf will be Monday and Tuesday. The team will make the trip to Kimball, one last time, for the tournament.
PCS Head Coach Rich Borman said he is optimistic about the Plainsmen’s chances at district.
“Our 2-5 players have been making improvements which has helped lower our team score, as in our season low 357 at Creek Valley,” Borman said.
Also at districts will be Crawford, Creek Valley, Dundy County Stratton, Garden County, Hay Springs, Hemingford, Hyannis, Kimball, Leyton, Morrill, Paxton, Potter-Dix, South Platte and Wallace.
