HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The Barn Festival is less than a couple of weeks away and festival staff are getting everything ready for the big weekends ahead. While most things will remain the same as years past, there are a few slight changes to be looking forward to.

A portion of the warehouse attached to the Show Barn was planned to open up more for vendors. New festival owner Kara Parde said attendees could expect to see more vendors on the outside as well.

Additionally, there will be a ‘holding bin’ for customers to place purchased items in until they’re ready to call it a day.

Because of parking issues and traffic congestion, Parde said they made some changes this year to fix those problems.

“We’ve worked with the county and there’s a resolution in place that, for the one-mile from Prairie Lake to Idlewilde will be one way going north during the hours of the event,” she said. So, everybody that is driving to the event will need to come in from Prairie Lake on the south and come north.”
