One of the most important pieces of the Giants’ lineup is set to make his debut.

Evan Longoria was reinstated from the Injured List and is in San Francisco’s lineup for Wednesday’s series finale vs. the Colorado Rockies. Longoria will be at the hot corner per usual and batting third.

This will be the first appearance of the season for Longoria, who had finger surgery during spring training. Longoria was a stud for the Giants last season when healthy, slashing .351/.482/.833 in 81 games and destroying lefties with a 1.088 OPS.

In a corresponding move, the Giants placed closer Jake McGee on the 15-day IL with lower back tightness. McGee has struggled this season — a 9.58 ERA in 11 appearances — but seemed to regain some velocity on his fastball in his last outing on Monday.

Here’s the Giants lineup vs. the right-handed Chad Kuhl. Alex Cobb takes the hill for SF:

  1. Wade RF
  2. Belt 1B
  3. Longoria 3B
  4. Pederson DH
  5. Yastrzemski CF
  6. Estrada 2B
  7. Crawford SS
  8. Gonzalez LF
  9. Bart C
