During a birthday celebration, Pickett was given a note of advice that could prove beneficial to his career in the long run.

That advice was to look for another piece of the Steelers young offensive core, Pat Freiermuth who is “always open.”

The man who gave the advice to Pickett was Jersey Jerry of Barstool Sports, who was celebrating a birthday with the new Steelers QB and others.

Barstool Big Cat was part of the celebrations and is the man who delivered the news on the Yak podcast.

In the words of Big Cat, Jerry looked at Pickett and said “Can I give you a little piece of advice in the NFL?” Jerry said. “Freiermuth is always open.”

That statement isn’t far off from the truth; Freiermuth was one of the most effective rout runners for the Steelers in 2021.

Even as a rookie tight end, Freiermuth caught 60 passes for 497 yards and seven touchdowns.

If all goes well, Steelers fans could be hearing “Pickett to Pat” for many seasons.

“You throw it to Freiermuth you will be playing for a long time.”
