Twenty U.S. companies taking part in new internet access program

On Monday, the Biden Administration announced a deal with 20 U.S. internet service providers to give high-speed internet to qualifying households throughout the country.
Imperial’s ALLO Communications  is among the 20 providers taking part in the Affordable Connectivity Program.
As part of the program, ALLO will make 100 Mbps (megabits per second) internet available free for people who are eligible for the federal program based on income guidelines.
ALLO President Brad Moline and Marketing Director Tanna Hanna were in Washington D.C. Monday for the White House Rose Garden ceremony.
Customers who meet the program requirements can receive 100 Mbps internet free or apply the $30 monthly discount to any ALLO internet option, Hanna said in a news release.
“The Affordable Connectivity Program is making reliable broadband a reality for those who have only had options for mediocre or no connectivity in the past,” Moline said.
“ALLO is proud to support the FCC in this effort as it aligns closely with our purpose to expand digital inclusion and make connectivity accessible and affordable for all,” he added.
Previously, ALLO supported the FCC’s Emergency Broadband Benefit program and continues to promote the effort to expand broadband access through the ACP.
ALLO has participated in the ACP since its rollout on Dec. 31. More than 10 million Americans currently utilize this program across the U.S.
More information is available at AlloFiber.com/ACP.
People can register for the program with the FCC at GetIn ternet.gov.
Americans will qualify for the program if their income is at or below 200% of the federal poverty level.
At Monday’s Rose Garden ceremony, Biden thanked the ISPs, calling the agreement a “big deal,” adding that the ACP is a “great example of what we can achieve when the federal government and private sector work together.”
“High-speed internet is not a luxury any longer, it is a necessity,” Biden said.
ALLO currently provides fiber networks in 29 communities across Nebraska, Colorado and Arizona, and has over 950  team members.
