The Portland Trail Blazers removed the interim tag from Joe Cronin's title this week after initially elevating him to replace Neil Oshey in December.

The Blazers took several months to make the change despite never conducting a search beyond Cronin.

“They were never opening it for a search,” one prominent agent said.

Cronin is attempting to reload the roster around Damian Lillard, which is widely considered one of the most difficult tasks an NBA front office can navigate.
