KANSAS CITY—Law enforcement authorities investigating two separate homicides that occurred in Kansas City, Kansas on Mother's Day have identified the victims.
Just before 9p.m. Sunday, police responded to a shooting in the 200 Block of North 27th Street. They found 33-year-old Marcus M. Johnson with gunshot wounds, according to a media release. EMS transported him to a local hospital where he died.
Less than 30 minutes later, police responded to a shooting in the 7300 Block of State Avenue where they found the body of 28-year-old DeMonte Allen. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Both victims are residents of Kansas City, Kansas.
Police released no additional details and have not reported an arrest.
