Leicester City fans will agree with manager Brendan Rodgers’ view of Youri Tielemans and why the Northern Irishman isn’t bothered if the Belgian leaves. That is, if journalist Dean Jones is correct in his assertion.

Rodgers is of the opinion that his midfielder has possibly reached the ceiling in quality on the pitch, according to ‘transfer insider’ Dean Jones‘ claim. Therefore, apparently, the Leicester chief is “happy” for the player to join Tottenham Hotspur or another club this summer. Now, this revelation would have shocked me a year or six months ago. Yet in contemporary times it is essentially obvious. Many Foxes supporters will agree with ‘BR’.

Tielemans has been a shadow of his former self on occasion this season. I have even seen some of the Blue Army turn on him. Another more realistic, reflective view is that the 25-year-old’s good will from scoring the FA Cup-winning goal is expiring.

It does appear as though ‘starman’ has decided to leave. A stalemate contract situation was annoying enough for some, already; a minority of the faithful repeatedly call for him to be axed from the starting lineup.

Leicester City vs Norwich City previewed by Brendan Rodgers

Prior to meeting Norwich at King Power Stadium, Rodgers offered some opinions. He believes highly rated centreback Wesley Fofana is getting his fitness up, and will return to his former level of performance. The boss added that he envisions the Frenchman only becoming better.

Chances have been carved well, says the former Liverpool gaffer, though a clinical application or nature is missing somewhat. Typically, BR says he wants his side to play with enjoyment: he professes this method is key to extracting the best from his men. Rodgers does demand a decent performance, of course.

After “bossing” the match with Manchester United, the LCFC boss is under the impression that the Canaries will be tough opposition. No games are easy in the Premier League, he feels. Rodgers shares that he is looking forward to the summer, presumably for a much-needed squad rebuild.
