MATADOR—Josie Raetz, age 76, passed away on May 1, 2022, in Matador, Texas. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, May 9, 2022 at the Church of Christ, Matador. Visitation was held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Moore-Rose Funeral Home, Floydada. Arrangements are under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.

Josie was born August 24, 1945 in Matador to Walter and Mary (Anderson) Gwinn. Following graduation from Roaring Springs High School she was a busy homemaker prior to her marriage to Bill Raetz of 50-plus years. She thoroughly enjoyed and loved family and family gatherings and opportunities to participate in games with a pleasing laugh when she won frequently. She was talented in quilting, gardening and homemaking, and enjoyed friendships with cherished friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Lillie Gwinn Crouch, Mable Gwinn Miller and Bonnie Gwinn Fullingim; and brother Charles “Chig” Gwinn.

She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Raetz of Matador; her daughter, Kathy Raetz of Matador; her son Clinton (Michelle) Raetz of Matador; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her brothers George (Phyllis) Gwinn of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Benjamin (Maxine) Gwinn of Temple, and James (Darla) Gwinn of Matador; her sisters Aly Gwinn and Marilyn (Ray) Holcomb, both of Lubbock; her sister-in-law Polly Gwinn of Matador; and numerous nieces and nephews.
