PHILLIPS COUNTY —A Kansas man died in an accident just after 5p.m. Tuesday in Phillips County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2018 Toyota Tacoma driven by George P. Korobka, 74, Hays, was westbound on Phillips County E Santa Fe Road, a closed road due to a wash out.
The pickup began to skid, traveled off the road into the wash out, struck the west bank and came to rest in the bottom of the wash out.
Korobka was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Oliff-Boeve Funeral Home. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
