WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross Athletics held its 2022 Crusader Awards on Monday, May 9 at Polar Park.Â
During the show, Director of Athletics
Kit Hughes announced that the Coaching Staff of the Year award will be renamed the
Jim Kavanagh Coaching Staff of the Year Award, in honor of
Kavanagh's 52-year career at Holy Cross.

Female Rookie of the Year: Olivia Dubin, women's soccer
Male Rookie of the Year: Nick Wang, baseball
Breakthrough Athlete of the Year: Darci Johal, women's ice hockey
Crusader in the Community: Chase Maitland, men's lacrosse
Jim Kavanagh Coaching Staff of the Year: Women's basketball
Unsung Hero: Bob Card, facilities building manager
Best Individual Performance: Avery LaBarbera at Bucknell on January 22, 2022 (30 points, 11 rebounds)
Game/Event of the Year: Women's basketball 59-48 win over Boston University to clinch the Patriot League regular-season title
Male Career Achievement Award: Max Krause, men's soccer
Female Career Achievement Award: Avery LaBarbera, women's basketball
Male Athlete of the Year: Jacob Dobbs, football
Female Athlete of the Year: Avery LaBarbera, women's basketball
Team of the Year: Football
Moment of the Year: Matthew Sluka's game-winning touchdown pass to Jalen Coker in football's FCS playoff win against Sacred Heart
