The body of a volunteer firefighter killed while battling a wildfire in Oklahoma was escorted home Tuesday.
Clark Funeral Services picked up Jason Smith's body at 5 p.m. in Amarillo.
Smith and Tyler Morris -- volunteer firefighters in Balko, Oklahoma -- were burned April 5 when their truck rolled over in a ditch.
The two were helping fight the Beaver River Fire in Beaver County.
They were treated in the burn unit at University Medical Center in Lubbock.
Smith was released from the hospital on April 19. He died Sunday.
The escort went down Hwy 60 to Pampa and then north to Perryton, Booker, Elmwood and Beaver, OK.
Fire departments along the way lined the route to pay their respects along with members of the public.
