Suspect arrested after woman, man killed while sitting in their car in Hart County, Georgia
A suspect has been arrested after two people were killed in a shooting Monday in Hart County, Georgia, according to Sheriff Mike Cleveland.
According to Cleveland, 59-year-old Morris Maurice Norwood was arrested Tuesday.
The shooting happened at about 1 p.m. on Redwine Church Road, which is near Rose Acre Farms.
Cleveland said a car pulled up to another car and someone inside started shooting.
A man died at the scene and a woman was rushed to the hospital where she died.
The coroner identified them as Jerece Teasley, 26, from Hartwell and Alexius Spencer, 25, from Bowersville.
Cleveland said a man who is considered a person of interest was taken into custody by a school resource officer at South Hart Elementary School.
At 6 p.m. the sheriff said the person of interest has been released.
Norwood was not the person of interest, Cleveland said.
