One flown to hospital following Putnam Co. rollover truck crash

PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — One person is in the hospital following a single-vehicle wreck in Putnam County involving a tri-axle truck.

According to Indiana State Police, the wreck happened at approximately 8:30 a.m. Tuesday on US 40 near County Road 475 east.

ISP crash investigators believe that the driver, a 64-year-old Crawfordsville man, was heading east along CR 475 when for unknown reasons he lost control of the vehicle and ran off the roadway. He then over-corrected when attempting to get back on the road and rolled the truck onto the driver’s side where it came to a stop.

The driver was extracted from the vehicle by Greencastle firefighters and then flown to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
