CLINTON, La. (WAFB) - The Clinton Police Department and East Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office are investigating a shooting that left one man dead on Tuesday, May 10, and the police chief thinks it is connected to seven other shootings.
“We think at this time they are connected in some way, shape, or form,” said Police Chief Ned Davis.

Officials said Ron Thompson, 37, of Clinton, was booked into the East Feliciana Parish Prison on Tuesday on charges of second-degree murder and aggravated assault with a firearm. The victim’s name has not been released.
Sheriff Jeff Travis said this is a joint investigation with his office and he also had deputies on the scene.
Davis said his investigators believe the shooting is connected to two others in Clinton, La., one in Jackson, La., and four in East Baton Rouge Parish. He added it is believed the shootings are the result of an ongoing dispute.
