What can we expect for Tuesday john, you know more of the same today, frank that mild weather this afternoon and then for this morning though jacket weather, I'm sure you noticed when you stepped outside this morning temperatures are on the cool side and we're seeing many of us right now. Upper forties and low fifties as we start today areas in the sixties is for Hilton head and Tybee. But *** lot of us down in the low fifties, clear skies getting light outside. Sun will be rising here in just about 30 minutes away and we'll see plenty of that sunshine all the way through the afternoon, definitely sunglasses needed today, mainly sunny into the evening and we'll see temperatures 70 at lunchtime 78 where most of us will top off their highs this afternoon. Look at all the clear skies across the southeast, quiet weather today and also for tomorrow. But we will see that increased chances for some showers by the end of the week. But for today, sunshine and breezy north winds by friday that much needed rain is in the forecast. I'll track that out for you. We'll get to some warmer weather just in time for the weekend. The nearly two week long search for an escaped inmate and former corrections officer out of Alabama. It's over, authorities say the inmate Casey White back in Alabama being taken back to jail. They say the former officer Vicki White shot and killed herself. Investigators say the two were spotted at *** hotel 270 miles and three states away in evansville indiana and we want to walk you through exactly what happened here back in the 29th when the two disappeared, they were spotted in these surveillance videos inside the jail. You can see Vicki escorting Casey out. Then one week ago today on May 3rd, *** witness says they spotted the inmate at this car wash in indiana. I've seen the tattoo on his arm. I pulled his picture up on my phone, my smartphone and I've seen that the image of him leaving down there and I've seen *** tattoo on one, on, on, on on the other, He should put on long sleeve or put on another sleeper tattoos. He stuck out like *** sore thumb, take *** look at the surveillance pictures of Casey White parked inside the car wash in this black truck, You could see him get out and walk around the truck, investigators say, once he was spotted, he ditched the truck and ran off yesterday. The manhunt came to *** close with *** high speed chase and crash after the two were spotted at this hotel. His cell phone video captures these tense moments on the side of the road in indiana, you can see *** crowd of officers surrounding that car and here's *** close up of the smashed up cadillac investigators say the officer was driving moments before she took her own life. The female driver of the vehicle shot herself and the passenger was injured. Uh, not too seriously, no law enforcement was injured, no innocent civilians were injured. The pursuit was short in nature and we have both people in custody, investigators say no one else was involved in White's escape. Now Casey is back in Alabama preparing to face arraignment but it's unclear how long that process will take all new this morning. Grammy award winning Atlanta rapper Young thug is behind bars this morning. He and dozens of his associates are facing federal racketeering charges. Young thug, it's associated with taking part in criminal street gang activity and conspiracy to violate the rico act. Now, chart topping rapper Gonna is also listed in the indictment. Court documents say *** total of 28 people from the group are facing charges this morning. *** former Atlanta Hawks player and first round draft pick is dead after being shot and killed down in florida. It all happened in Orlando early monday morning deputies say someone shot and killed Adrian Payne who was *** first round draft pick for the hawks back in 2014, investigators say the shooter stayed at the scene and cooperated with them. He arrested and charged him with first degree murder. We're working to learn what led to that shooting. They didn't access. They told us it was *** clear indication of free system. Well right now, gas prices are once again nearing record highs. What can you tell us? Yeah, Emma, those prices are definitely on the rise. We're here right now at highway 17 and Chatham parkway and prices behind me, they show you their 3 89 for gasoline. And if you drive diesel, it is even worse. Now check out some of the video that we shot overnight last night of prices across the area In Savannah. We saw several spots that were as high as 386 and charging 385. Many places were charging 3 65 and 3 72. So not quite as bad as that initials sugar sticker shock that you might see now over in south Carolina. Not the same story. Those prices actually even higher. Take *** look at Jasper County right there across the state line prices shot way up to nearly $4 *** gallon. Now, most of the gas stations we stopped at, we're charging right below that $4 market, 3 99 *** gallon. Now Diesel, which if you're like me, you drive *** diesel is *** lot more than that. You're looking at over $5 *** gallon. Now, here's *** look at our average prices right now. Triple ***. Released some new numbers overnight in Georgia. *** gallon of gas is gonna cost you about 3 90. That's up 16 cents from *** week ago and six cents from yesterday alone. Now in south Carolina, it's up about 408, which is 20 cents from *** week ago and six cents from yesterday across the county. The average is even higher than that at 4 37 up 17 cents from *** one week ago today. And that's up four cents from yesterday. Now you'll remember with Russia's invasion of Ukraine back in february prices skyrocketed and experts said that the US government put into place some help. That would only be temporary. Emma frank. The key message he has is that the republicans have been obstructionists and you need to send the democrats back to finish the job. GOP lawmakers point the finger at democratic spending, joe biden and this administration don't seem to get it. Republicans are sending *** message to voters that they are the party to bring down inflation. What I would like to see of course is unleashing more american energy and increasing innovation.
