Good numbers locally for first day of early voting

The first day of early voting in the Twin Lakes Area for the May 24 primary election saw a good number of voters cast their ballots.

In Baxter County, a total of 332 people early voted. Of those, 210 voted at the court house, 100 at Twin Lakes Plaza and 22 at the Baxter County Election Commission Office.

In Marion County, 141 people voted early. There were 90 ballots cast at the fairgrounds and 51 at Bull Shoals City Hall.

Early voting can be done Monday through Saturday from 8-6 weekdays and 10-4 on Saturdays. On the final day of early voting, Monday May 23, the hours will be from 8-5.

Early voting locations in Baxter County include the county courthouse at 1 East 7th Street, Twin Lakes Plaza at 759 U.S. Highway 62 East and the Baxter County Election Commission Headquarters at 213 East Fifth Street in Mountain Home.

In Marion County, early voting locations include the Marion County Fairgrounds at 513 E. Seawell Avenue in Summit and Bull Shoals City Hall at 706 C.S. Boulevard. On the final day of early voting on the 23rd, Marion County voters can vote at the Lazy Acres Fire House at 254 Main Street in Peel.

In Fulton County, the early voting location is at the Fulton County Fairgrounds at 124 Arena Lane in Salem. This Friday and Saturday, Fulton County voters can early vote at the old MS Auto Parts Store at 960 Main Street in Mammoth Spring.

Those going to the polls will need to bring photo identification to cast a ballot. The ID could be a state of Arkansas or Federal Government ID, post-secondary education student ID, military ID, concealed carry ID or passport.
