The Los Angeles Dodgers, despite their hot start which has led them to the best record in all of baseball to this point, have been without one of their key bullpen pieces to begin the 2022 season.
Blake Treinen has been out since early April with shoulder inflammation and has only appeared in three games for the Dodgers up to this point.
And it looks like things aren’t getting any better for him as of late.
According to Dodgers insider Juan Toribio, Treinen is going to be out until at least the All-Star break and as of now, there is no clear timetable for the veteran right-hander’s return.
A Blow To The Bullpen
In addition to losing Kenley Jansen, this hurts for the Dodgers.
Treinen has been one of their most reliable relievers over the past two seasons and has been a key member in their recent postseason runs.
The Dodgers’ bullpen remains one of the best bullpens in all of baseball, but without Treinen, things are going to look a little bit different for the time being.
It seems as though an All-Star break return for the right-hander is a best-case scenario.
With no clear timetable set for the 33-year-old’s return, this could be a while, potentially even the rest of the season if the injury worsens.
A return at the All-Star break is possible though and if he improves over time, then the Dodgers can hope to have him back by then and be prepared for the stretch run late in the season.
We’ll see how long this takes and if Treinen can return at the All-Star break.
Again, there is no clear timetable for his return.
