Authorities in Carver County continue to investigate a fatal motorcycle crash that happened over the weekend.
Carver County Sheriff Jason Kamerud reports that around 6:30 PM Saturday, deputies were called to investigate a personal injury motorcycle crash in the 10600 block of Yale Avenue in Camden Township.
Deputies found a downed motorcycle and an adult male rider lying on the gravel roadway. EMTs administered lifesaving measures, but the motorcycle rider, 64-year-old Clay Nystrom of Waconia, was eventually pronounced dead at the scene. Officials say Nystrom died despite wearing a helmet at the time the crash occurred.
Authorities say it appeared that the motorcycle was northbound on Yale Avenue when it apparently went out of control.
The Plato Fire Department and Ridgeview Ambulance assisted the Carver County Sheriff’s Office.
