SAN FRANCISCO -- Steven Adams will start at center Game 4 for the Memphis Grizzlies, one game after returning from health and safety protocols.

Adams was active for Game 3 but only played the final 5:37 of garbage time when the game was well in hand.

Monday will be Adams' first start since Game 2 of the first round against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He only played three minutes that game and his only other action that series was 3:41 of game time in Game 4 before he entered the league's protocols.

Tyus Jones will also start in place of Ja Morant due to right knee soreness.

The decision to start Adams isn't a surprise. The Grizzlies have struggled to outrebound the smaller Warriors this series and Adams will help there. In his first season in Memphis, Adams set the Grizzlies' single-season record for offensive rebounds.

Trailing two games to one, starting Adams is also a final gambit to try and thwart the Warriors in hopes of tying the series before Game 5 in Memphis on Wednesday
