Officer-involved shooting sends in Rolla sends one person to the hospital

ROLLA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A suspect is hurt after a shooting with a deputy in Rolla on Monday afternoon.

According to the Phelps County Sheriff's Department, the shooting happened just after noon on the 600 Block of South Bishop Avenue in Rolla.

The department has not released the identity of the suspect but they were taken to University Hospital by helicopter for treatment. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol will continue the investigation into the shooting.
