IW)--Crews are doing utility maintenance at the Oakwood Road and Garriott Road intersection prompting lane closures and a 4-way stop. The westbound left turning lane and the southbound right turning lane will be closed during this work effort. Work is expected to be complete by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Motorists are encouraged to follow posted traffic control signs and to drive with extreme caution in this area.

FC)--A Midwest City man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Garfield County on Saturday. 78 year-old Dennis Dale Wallace died at the scene of the crash on State Highway 132 near Union Road around two miles north and a mile west of Hillsdale. According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol officials, Wallace, who was wearing a helmet, was riding a 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle south on 132 when he tried to round a right-hand curve at high speed. He went off the left side of the road, just south of Union Road. The motorcycle went into a slide. When it hit the ground, it flipped throwing Wallace. OHP listed “unsafe speed on a curve” as the cause of the crash.

EQ)--There was a 3.1 magnitude earthquake just after 9:30 Sunday morning in Grant County. The quake was centered about six miles west-southwest of Medford, and was felt throughout the area. There have been no reports of damage.

CC)—The Enid Mayor and Board of Commissioners will meet in Special Session on Tuesday. During the meeting the commission will discuss and take necessary action on the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 City of Enid Budget. Additional meetings will be held, if necessary, before commissioners approve the budget for the coming fiscal year. Tuesday’s meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m. in Council Chamber of the City Administration Building on West Garriott and is open to the public.

MF)--Enid High School’s 107th May Fete celebration will be 6:15 p.m. Wednesday. The celebration takes place at Government Springs Park and begins with introduction of the May Court. The court and senior class then promenade around the lake to the gazebo to be seated. After everyone is seated, the queen is crowned, followed by entertainment for the queen. The winding of the Maypole follows.

RC)--You can get your pets vaccinated and licensed for $10 during the annual city of Enid pet clinic from noon to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Chisholm Trail Expo Center. The clinic is open to the public and will include pet vaccinations for rabies and issuance of pet licenses as required by local ordinance. Those with pets that have already been vaccinated can pay $2 for a city license only. The event also is open to pet owners outside of Enid.

PW)--The Garfield County Election Board announced it will be accepting poll worker applications. Applications are being accepted for Inspector, Judge and Clerk.  Garfield County Election Board Secretary Coulten Cue said that all applicants must be willing to work long hours on election days and that training will be provided. Poll workers are compensated for their time and, in some cases, mileage for travel. To qualify, an applicant must be a registered voter in the county where he or she would like to work. If selected, a poll worker cannot hold any other offices under the laws of the state (such as school board member or city councilman) and may not be related to or employed by a candidate for office. Those interested in becoming a poll worker should contact the Garfield County Election Board at 580-237-6016 or GarfieldCounty@elections.ok.gov. The County Election Board is located at 903 Failing Ave. Office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
