Around 7:40 a.m. Sunday, L.A. police responded to the residence on the 22500 block of Victory Boulevard, where they found the three unresponsive children. The kids, who officials described as a 12-year-old girl and 8 and 9-year-old boys, were found dead.

Los Angeles police said Flores admitted to killing the children with the help of her teenage son. Flores was booked in Van Nuys Jail on three counts of murder while the 16 year old was booked at Sylmar Juvenile Hall on one count of murder.

Los Angeles County deputies arrested 38-year-old Angela Dawn Flores late Sunday evening. Police said a juvenile had also been booked. Local news outlets identified that juvenile as Flores’ 16-year-old son.

Prisila Canales, a neighbor, said she heard the mother yelling the night before.

“I heard someone screaming, 'My family is abusing me,' and all kinds of nonsense. I couldn't make out what it was,” she recalled. "I guess at that time she was in our neighbor's yard ... burning a candle and she had the Bible out."

The children’s cause of the death has not been revealed.

Flores is being held on $6 million bail. The teen is being held without bail.
