Two-time Olympic gold medalist Sydney McLaughlin took the plunge.
The Dunellen native got married Friday to former NFL wide receiver Andre Levrone Jr. at Early Mountain Vineyards in Madison, Va., according to PEOPLE.
McLaughlin wore a Pallas Couture dress, with a veil by Vera Wang and Jimmy Choo heels and accessorized with jewelry from Zales. Her bridal hairdo was created by Jess from Beyoutiful Bride, makeup look by Michele Eva, and nails perfected by Phil Tran. The groom, 27, wore a suit by Brian Alexander with Salvatore Ferragamo shoes and a Tag Heuer watch. During the ceremony, the couple exchanged wedding bands — his by Blue Nile, her’s Tacori — under the guidance of Pastor Greg Hendricks. The emotional and romantic nuptials were accompanied by music from Chandler Moore & The Gospel Group.
You can see photos of the wedding on McLaughlin’s Instagram account. The caption on the post reads “Mr. & Mrs. Levrone ❤️🔥 PT. 1,” hinting at a name change for the 22-year-old track-and-field star.
The couple had been engaged for nine months, with Levrone proposing in August, according to the New York Post.
Levrone popped the question to McLaughlin at the Four Seasons Resort in Scottsdale, Ariz., in August 2021. The proposal ended an already triumphant month for the track star on an even higher note, having celebrated her 22nd birthday on Aug. 7 — a mere few days after her record-smashing sprint in Tokyo.
McLaughlin set the world record in the women’s 400-meter hurdles at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics (51.46 seconds) and picked up a second gold running for Team USA in the women’s 4×400 meter relay.
As for a honeymoon, PEOPLE reports “the pair is waiting until after the track season and eying a getaway in September or October.”
