BEDFORD — A crawfish boil, beer garden and live music featuring Clayton Anderson and other local bands is coming to Harp Commons May 13-14.

Court Room Sports Grill, a downtown Bedford restaurant, is sponsoring the 2022 Crawfest, a two-day event bringing a bit of the bayou to Bedford.

Country music artist and Lawrence County native Clayton Anderson will perform May 14 at Harp Commons in Bedford during the 2022 Crawfest. The two-day event is sponsored by Court Room Sports Grill and will bring food, games for kids and adults, beer garden and live music to downtown. Other bands slated to perform are Dame's Rocket and Denson Avenue.

Cari Gregory, general manager of the Court Room, said there will be face painting and games for kids, cornhole and a beignet-eating contest.

The fun kicks off Friday at 5 p.m. and Dame's Rocket will perform from 6-9 p.m. on the Harp Commons stage.

Events on Saturday begin at noon. Country star and Lawrence County native Clayton Anderson will headline Crawfest Saturday at 8:30 p.m. Denson Avenue will open the show, playing from 6-8 p.m.

"We're very excited to have Clayton here and he's excited to be here and play for his hometown," Gregory said. "He's just as excited as we are to have him here."

The price of admission includes music performances and choice of a plate from the crawfish boil (crawfish shrimp, andouille sausage, potatoes, corn and corn bread) or a pulled pork meal from BB's Market.

Bayou burgers and alligator bites will be available from Court Room and desserts will be available from BB's Market.

Gregory said this will be the third Court Room Crawfest but her first. The first year was in 2019, there was none in 2020 and it returned in 2021.

"We just want people to come downtown to enjoy food, enjoy each other, the music and have some and fun times outside," she said.

Gregory recently moved to southern Indiana from Olympia, Washington, and said she's been warmly welcomed to the area.

Court Room Sports Grill is owned by Endeavor Hospitality Group, which owns restaurants in Bedford and Bloomington.

"Our goal is to keep improving on this restaurant and improving on the activities coming to downtown Bedford," she said.
