Volunteer firefighter dies about month after truck flips during Beaver County wildfire

One of the two firefighters hurt in a rollover crash while battling a large wildfire in northwest Oklahoma has died.
In early April, Tyler Morris and Jason Smith were inside a water tanker when it rolled down an embankment, landing on its top in a fire in Beaver County amid zero visibility. The ground around the truck was charred.
First responders got Smith out of the truck, and he and Morris were badly burned.

Smith, a volunteer firefighter with the Balko Fire Department, was taken to a burn unit in Texas and allowed to go home a few weeks later. Authorities announced over the weekend that he has since died.
The Balko Fire Department is accepting donations on behalf of Smith's family.
