Argent Financial Group appoints Tech, LSU-S grads as mineral managers

SIMSBORO – Jan. 31, 2023 – Longtime Simsboro resident and local business owner Dan Lord today announced his candidacy for the Lincoln Parish Police Jury District 3 seat. Citing his desire to see a Police Jury that is focused on meeting the critical needs of Lincoln Parish, Lord said he is committed to bringing transparency and accountability to Police Jury decision-making and actions.

After teaching for five years in Ouachita Parish, Claire Haight returned home to Lincoln Parish last year. She is now in her second year of teaching first grade in Simsboro. Haight grew up in Ruston and graduated from Cedar Creek School. From there, she went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana Tech University in elementary education Grades 1-5 and special education. Haight also recently completed her master’s in educational leadership from Louisiana State University in Shreveport.

Simsboro High School will hold its 2022-23 homecoming activities on Friday, February 10. Ikeia Brown took over early and propelled the Simsboro High School Lady Tigers to a 60-24 home win over Forest Friday night in District 1-B action at the SHS Gym. An Arcadia woman was arrested Friday after she allegedly took an ex-boyfriend’s car, rammed a car containing two young children, and then left the scene. Grambling Police investigated a report of a vehicle theft on College Avenue. Officers were told Ar’Keciyah L. Ward, 20, was seen taking the car of her ex-boyfriend of three years.
