Chamber hosts Jasper on the Move awards banquet

The Jasper on the Move Awards banquet was held April 28 at Legacy Oaks Preserve in Ridgeland. The Sergeant Jasper Award was presented to John M. Carroll, a member of Hardeeville City Council.

Several award winners were recognized during the Jasper County Chamber of Commerce's 32nd annual Jasper on the Move event April 28 at Legacy Oaks Preserve in Ridgeland.

The Sergeant Jasper Award, named for the Revolutionary War hero and namesake of Jasper County, was presented to John M. Carroll. The award is presented to an individual or organization for significant contributions to the betterment of life in Jasper County. Carroll is a member of Hardeeville City Council.

The EMS Person of the Year Award was presented to Kelly Lowery of Jasper County Fire & Rescue.

The Business Education Partner of the Year Award was presented to Antioch Educational Center, and the Growth and Development Award was presented to Latitude Margaritaville.

Other awards included Business Person of the Year, which was presented to Avery Cleland, and the New Business Award, presented to PJ's Coffee of New Orleans, which has a franchise location in Ridgeland.   

The Zenie Ingram Community Service Award was given to Hardeeville Parks, Recreation and Tourism. The award was accepted by Parks, Recreation and Tourism director Jennifer Combs. The Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award was presented to Department of Natural Resources officer Elise Wells.

The Healthcare Professional of the Year Award was presented to High Point Family Dentistry, and the Employee of the Year award was presented to Dale Terry, Jasper County director of engineering services.
