Heat big man Dewayne Dedmon ruled out Game 4 vs. 76ers with cold
Less than two hours before tip-off of Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals series between the host Philadelphia 76ers and visiting Miami Heat, the top seed found out that they'd be without one of their big men off of the bench. The Heat had a host of players listed as questionable headed into Sunday's matchup, but only one of them ended up being ruled out.
Dedmon has given Miami depth at center over the past two seasons when starter Bam Adebayo has needed rest or been injured. Dedmon was first on the team in field goal percentage during the 2021-2022 regular season (56.6%), third in rebounds per game (5.8) and fourth in games played (67).
The 32-year-old is one of seven Heat players to play in all eight postseason games thus far and he's averaged 4.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 9.4 minutes per contest.
Head coach Erik Spoelestra currently holds a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series. Game 5 will take place back in Miami at 7:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
