NEW YORK — Courtesy of a ninth-inning walk-off homer by Gleyber Torres, the Yankees returned from three days off on Sunday to beat the Texas Rangers 2-1 in Game 1 of doubleheader at Yankee Stadium.
First pitch for the nightcap is 5:15 p.m. YES will televise the game.
The Yankees’ Game 2 lineup includes Estevan Florial, who was called up from Triple-A on Sunday to be the team’s 27th player for the doubleheader. This is the ninth career start and 12th game for the Dominican center fielder.
The pitching matchup has Jordan Montgomery (0-1, 2.88) facing rookie right-hander Glenn Otto, a former Yankees prospect who was dealt to Texas last July in the Joey Gallo deal.
