THE BASICS
•Saint Louis lost two heartbreakers Saturday, falling 6-5 and 3-2 to George Mason in an Atlantic 10 Conference doubleheader at the Billiken Sports Center.
•The Billikens slipped to 21-26 overall and 13-9 in the A-10. George Mason improved to 23-26, 11-12.
 
GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•George Mason took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
•Saint Louis pulled even in the third on Gabbie Kowalik's RBI single.
•The Patriots plated three runs in the fifth, but the Billikens got two of them back in the bottom of the inning on Kowalik's team-leading eighth home run of the season.
•George Mason tallied twice in the sixth to go on top 6-3.
•Jane Kaniecki hit her first collegiate home run, a two-run blast, in the seventh to narrow Mason's lead to 6-5, but the Bills could not push across the tying run.
 
GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Kowalik added a single for a three-hit game.
•Kristi Stevenson had a double and two singles.
•Kaniecki also smacked a double.
•Sadie Wise, Allie Herron and Kendall Johnson collected a single apiece.
 
GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Saint Louis jumped in front in the first inning on Wise's RBI single.
•The Bills doubled the lead in the second on Johnson's two-out RBI single.
•George Mason scored all its runs in the top of the seventh.
 
GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Taylor Hochman recorded a career-high 10 strikeouts and walked only two.
•Cami Newbanks doubled and singled.
•Kowalik and Herron tripled.

The Billikens and Patriots play the final game of the series Sunday at noon. The Billiken senior class will be honored following the game.
