Job fair for high school students entering workforce post-grad

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-Local high school students got their first taste of the real world today.

Senior students in Warren and Edmonson counties gathered at Greenwood High School to network and interview with over 20 local companies.

These students are looking for full time work and are entering the workforce directly after graduation.

Staff said this is a great event for students, as sometimes there can be barriers to interview for a job such as transportation, scheduling or just being nervous.

“This is a safe place, they’re still inside the school. They can have an interview on the spot, we can all talk about it and provide feedback. It provides them with great experience whether they’re going to go on to that career or not,” said Greenwood High School College and Career Coach Holly Whittinghill.

A few of the companies there included Holley, Fruit of the Loom, and Logan Aluminum. There was a waiting list of more companies that wanted to be involved.
