TOLNA, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Carrington Cardinals played two Region 3 Baseball games in Tolna on Friday afternoon, the Cardinals fall to Lamoure/Litchville/Marion 8-0 in the first game and defeat Dakota Prairie/Midkota/Lakota/Griggs County Mustangs 6-4 in the second game. Carrington is now 3-3 in R3 and 3-4 overall, LLM improves to 6-0 in R3 play and 7-1 overall, DP/Mid/L/GC is now 3-3 in R3 and 3-4 overall.

Senior pitcher Landon Piehl for the Loboes had a no-hit bid through six innings, Lucas Hendrickson broke the no-hit bid in the top of the seventh inning when he hit a one-out single. Piehl would strikeout the next batter, then hit his third batter of the game on the next batter and finally get a groundout for the final out and a complete game one-hitter. The Loboes bats had nine hits, including two hits each by Connor Johnson, Anthony Hanson and Cyle Warcken. Warcken had a single, double and knocked in three runs. Hudson Schmitz takes the loss on the mound, working five innings, Kael Kovar worked an inning in relief.
Carrington 6 DP/Mid/L/GCC 4
The Cardinals come from behind to defeat the Mustangs of Dakota Prairie/Midkota/Lakota/Griggs County 6-4. The Mustangs scored two runs in the home half of the first inning, but the Cardinals scored four runs two innings later and never looked back. One through four batters for Carrington had one hit each, Grady Shipman, Noah Paulson, Hudson Schmitz and Lucas Hendrickson. Paulson had a double and knocked in one run. Garrett Haakenson had two hits for the Mustangs and knocked in one run. Hendrickson picks up the victory working four innings, Preston Lee takes the loss on the mound.
Next up for Carrington will be Monday in Steele against Kidder County, KDAK 1600/100.1 and newsdakota.com will have the game starting at 430pm.

The Cardinals led 6-4 heading into the top of the sixth inning, but the Knights outscore the Cardinals 4-1 in the last two innings to get the Region 2 victory.
