Life Celebration for Larry Killough 4Larry Neil Killough, 89, of Claytor Lake, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022. He was raised in Jackson, Tennessee, the son of the late John F. Killough, Sr. and Quilla Katherine Wegmann Killough.

Larry was the Peat Marwick professor of accounting at Virginia Tech where he taught for 45 years and was head of the accounting department for 9 years. He also served as faculty representative for athletics for 19 years and had written many articles and books. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Radford and served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years, Irene K. Killough; son and daughter-in-law, Gregory Neil and Catherine Killough; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and William Demere; grandchildren, Paul Demere, Desirae Twilla and husband Kevin, William Demere and wife Nargess, Brittany Killough, Andrea DeLeon, Abigail Wade and husband Alex, and Eliza Mrvan and husband Brandon; two great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He will be greatly missed by his family.

A celebration of Larry’s life will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Central United Methodist Church in Radford with Rev. Don Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
